Tonight, when browsing my old photos, I happened to find two photos. One was taken in Jan of 2003, in Anhui (should be in Huaining or Hefei); another one was taken on oct. 6th, 2008, in Philadelphia.





The girl next to me is called Vivian Man, a sweet, considerate and smart girl from HK. She used to work for the same organization with me, even though we are not working in the same place.

The first meet was in Anhui. It was a workshop, a real international workshop in the south suburb area of Hefei. It was our first meet but we became good friends, after the workshop and on-the-site demostration. I still can remeber the Ganbeis in Huaining and Hefei with Dr. Pu. And also a night talk before her leaving the next day.

After the first meet, it took almost 2 years for us to meet again. At that time, she was not working for the same organization. At that time, I had a chance to stay in HK for 1 month and she helped to rent an apartment in Yau MaTei and shew me around when she is free. I appreciated.

Then, she left HK to study in Philadelphia of US. She married Kevin in May of 2007, but I missed her wedding ceremony in Phuket. It was a big pity.

But another chance came. I had a chance to visit US in Sept. 2008. When talking with her, we've planned several times to meet in LA or other places. But we were not farmiliar with all those places. The final decision was that I flew to Philly. It was great to have such decision. We met in Philly, travelled to NYC and went shopping. It was a short trip but full of laughter.

I know all those words are not enough to show my appreciation to Vivian and the friendship with her, but I do cherish the relationship. Life is short, but the friendship can cheer you up, share your happiness and tears. I know we may not able to meet each other very often, but I know, this is true friend.

上周2，公司的一个项目交付使用，总统亲自到现场剪彩。但无奈我们身份太低，只能远观。公司的项目就是一个小小的警察站，依我看在国内只能叫危房，在这里算是最好的警察站了。可惜我没来得及拍张照片给你看看，让你见识一下这里的建筑水平。
昨天我们五个人到Cafue National Park去玩。上周我们曾经去过另外一个，但是找不到路了。这次我们选了个全赞比亚最大的National Park。早上6点起床，7点不到就出发了。东出LUSAKA250KM就是公园。但是要看到很多动物还要走很远。先前走的是柏油路，还行，虽然路只有双向2车道，但车实在很少，我们都是150KM/HR。一进公园门就是没有人烟的树林和草原了。可以说，南北4、5百公里，东西1、2百公里，除了LODGE（小旅馆）以外，根本没有人烟。除了一条横穿东西的柏油马路外，都是很少的泥路。一进公园，路两旁是无边无际的树林或草原，时常有羚羊和猴子穿路而过。这样走了90多公里，就拐上了一条土路。路两旁的景色顿时大变。到处都是干枯的草和毫无生气的树。草丛中到处都是蚂蚁的窝，都是几十厘米高、直径十几厘米的土柱。还有很多几米高的有很长历史的蚂蚁窝，看着就毛骨耸然。路也是坑坑洼洼，崎岖不平。这60公里就走了快2个小时。目的地是Lufupa Lodge，靠着Cafue河，河面很宽，有100多米。我还说河水清澈，可以去涉水的。哪知道管理员说，河里有很多鳄鱼，经常爬到河岸上来。不过有水的地方树木都长得特别好，绿的红的黄的，还有鹭鸶等水鸟，非常漂亮。要看动物还要驾车朝公园深处去。一路上我们见到很多动物，有羚羊、黄羊、水鹿、野猪、珍珠鸡、梅花鹿和河马。由于是正午，天气特别热，河里和沼泽地里能见到很多河马，加上蓝天白云，漂亮得不得了。不过天干，一路上都是灰尘，还有采采蝇（牛蚊子，据说在坦桑尼亚某些地方的采采蝇都有病毒，让人得嗜睡病，一旦染上，一辈子就在睡眠中度过了）。开窗倒是凉快，但灰尘和采采蝇到处都是。结果弄得我们是满身是灰，到处都被叮了。不过我们的运气不好，中午没有狮子，都在休息。如果有时间和金钱，在那里住上一个星期，简直是爽得很。
还有，你可能还记得曾看过世界奇闻中描写过的面包树，我是见到了。树很粗，直径大约2米，树顶有很少的树枝。但这种树长的特别快。每年雨季树上就会结像面包一样的果子。可惜现在还是旱季，连树叶都没有。
回到Lusaka都已经是深夜了。今天起来就满身酸痛。不过看到了如此美景也是值得的。
